Why Come Here?

All of these speakers have spoken all over the globe at all of the major cities of the world.  We want to give back.  You’re familiar with Doctors without borders.  We aren’t doctors.  We are a bunch of SharePoint Speakers that want to help out and connect with people in places that are under served and rarely get any training.

We offer this *free* training with the help of sponsors as well as personal time and money to subsidize the training to help grow the SharePoint community and help provide opportunities to grow our fellow IT friends.  We LOVE connecting with people who have never had the opportunity to hear a SharePoint speaker.  It litterally changes lives as people connect with the global community and become part of the personal and business growth opportunities sweeping the world.

We are happy to say we have launched communities in Kenya, Philippeans, Vietnam, Uraguay, and have spoken at User Groups and SharePoint Events in Johannesburg, Capetown, South Africa, China, Santiago, and Buenos Aires.  Our joy is in seeing individuals grow and businesses bring and share local success to their communities.

We are looking forward to meeting you!

Esperamos ansiosamente el conocerlos nos vemos en Setiembre

My new theme for this fall is; Inspire! Teach! Awe!

give back  The remainder of 2013 I’ll be traveling 80 days and visiting 14 countries to inspire, teach, and awe. As part of the tour, I’ll be speaking at six major conferences around the globe in addition to smaller community events. My discussions will focus on new cloud-based technology and development skills that can be used regardless of geographical location.

I’ll be demonstrating my latest technology setup, which allows me to work and run a business from anywhere in the world using Windows Azure, Office 365, and CloudShare. Along the way I’ll be giving away signed copies of my most recent SharePoint book.

In between trips I’ll be working with our new healthcare consulting company and healthcare clients and do hope to awe with our new release based on SharePoint 2013 coming out over the next weeks.

My first stop will be in South America, so take a moment to visit the STP site and register for events if you’re in the area.

Expect photos and lots of adventure along the way!

Cheers,

Paul

Two Facebookers. Sauvik Das, a Ph.D. student at Carnegie Mellon and summer software engineer intern at Facebook, and Adam Kramer, a Facebook data scientist, published research about their study of the self-censorship behavior collected from 5 million English-speaking Facebook users. It reveals a lot about how Facebook monitors our unshared thoughts and what it thinks about them.

In short, every key stroke you enter while on Facebook is tracked and can be analyzed. The research of self-censorship is interesting but clearly raises some concerns about privacy.

The research paper can be found here, I found it to be a very insightful read.

Johns Hopkins researchers poke a hole in Apple’s encryption

The tech company said a fix for its iMessage flaw will be available on Monday.

Apple should be open regarding ALL the potential security flaws in the OS. There is a common misconception that our personal data on our cell phone is private. This simply is not true, privacy requires vigilance.

I am excited about the recent refocus on the complex computer science behind security. Today there is a global matrix of digital information extended to all of us who own Smartphones and we need to be sure we take the additional steps required to encrypt and secure our data wherever it resides.

On a separate note my Nokia 950 Windows 10 Phone started randomly rebooting and in some cases simply not booting and in others flashing odd pixilated colors on the screen. After research I learned there are serious issues which require both a firmware and an OS update to repair.

“The aim of Red Nose Day is to bring about real and lasting change by tackling the root causes of poverty and social injustice. To drive this change, the Red Nose Day Fund awards grants to projects on the ground that work to give people a leg up, not a hand out.”

You can buy red noses at Walgreens this year. I purchased a bunch to give away as well as wear on the 26th.
